My candles~!

I love those candles that I got at Bath and Body Works.
I love Bath and Body Works!!

I have some body lotions from there, maybe I will talk about them later.

So, I have three kinds of candle so far.

  • Island Margarita
  • Caribbean Escape
  • Seaside Escape
Those are from SLATKIN & Co.

First of all, Seaside Escape.
I love this the most out of three.

It has a blend of citrus, jasmine, rum, guava, vanilla, and musk.

I can smell a hint of vanilla, jasmine, and some exotic scent.
I feel like I am walking along seaside in a island somewhere..

Next, Island Margarita.

This smells great too!
I has a blend of mandarin, blue iris, plum, and sweet tangelo, and sandalwood.

I definitely smell sandalwood, and sweet citrus like combination of tangerine, grapefruit and other orange-y smell.

When I smell it directly, it smells like a typical public bathroom in Japan.... which I don't like. But when it is lite, its scent is softer and better!!

The last but not least, Caribbean Escape.

It has "a sweet tropical blend of melon, raspberry nectar, and Italian lemon tempered with creamy coconut milk and raw sugarcane".

This is so sweet and strong scent which I love!
I can smell coconut and nectar that bring sweetness to it in great way.

I like candles because favorite scents make me calm and happy.
I can't wait to get more scent!

Please let me know your favorite scent.
I want to try more!

Homesick...

It's been a year since I went home ,which is in Japan, last time.
I know one year is not that long to be homesick.
But US and Japan are totally different so I feel like I've been away more than a year.

That's been said, I made a treasury that reminded me of my country.
Homesick

I never thought there were so many goodies that are either from Japan or inspired by Japanese culture.
I'm glad I created this treasury.
Now I am able to feel being Japan every time I see this ;)

My wish has been promised lol,,!!

One of my dream is to have a dog, Yorkshire Terrier exact.
I've been asking my fiance for a quite long time.

Then 5 mins ago, I emailed him with this photo attached,
Isn't she cute????
My effort has prevailed!!!!

Yes!
He made a promise to get one as soon as we are done with everything regarding our marital paperwork.
Some of you will think that won't take that long, but considering me as Japanese, it will take so long to process paperwork... for instance green card.

I'm so excited to meet my future baby dog!!

Stay tuned!!!

Dinner: Sushi!!

My fiance and I went out for sushi last night.
I've been asking for us to go to sushi restaurant for few days.
But he went go-karting with his friends earlier yesterday, and he said he might be eating dinner with them.
So we decided we'll eat sushi on Sun lunch.

But, contrary to his plan, he came home from go-karting  around 8pm without eating dinner with them saying "I'm so tired."
So we went to our favorite sushi restaurant "Sushi Hana" !!!

Here are what we got.

We love salmon, yellowtail, and he likes Ikura(salmon roe).
We usually order same kinds there.

Happy tummy...!

Movie night: Battle: Los Angeles

We, my fiance and I, sometimes watch blue-ray movies at home, sometimes with other family members on Friday night.

This time, we watched "Battle: Los Angeles".
I kinda knew what was going to happen from the review we saw so many times at a movie theater.

It is another alien invasion story, just like "Independence Day" which I like.
But this movie is more intense in the battle field.
I felt like I was on the battle field with those marines.

Even though this is a three-star-movie, I loved it.
Aaron Eckhart is a great actor that captivated me throughout the movie.
If there weren't Aaron, it couldn't have been this good, I think.
I cried some times during the movie, this fact doesn't make this movie great, because I cry frequently...
In fact, I shed tears even I see cutest things, like babies, dogs, animals....

I don't wanna give away all the story.
This made me proud of military who are working hard to protect the country.... maybe that's exactly what they want us to think....
Oh, well... I like it anyway.
I will watch it again.

I finally got a storage for my favorites!!

I love to read!
I am a book worm....

There used to be boxes filled with books stacking up in corner of my room.
I just didn't have anything rather than boxes to storage my books.
But the other day, I traded my surfboard to this precious book cases!!
So I finally had time to organize my books this morning.
I haven't figured out the way to organize books better yet.

Should I organize alphabetically, or based on the categories?

I have more books at my house in Japan.
I'm so excited to bring them all next time I go home, even though I will need to get more book cases to organize them.

My dream is to have books filled with a wall!
Just like this:)
or it will be my ultimatum dream to have a library in my house!
Like this!!!

I have no means of opposing e-book.
I think e-book will be great when you go for a trip, or even when you go out.
I even want to have one some day.
But I will still keep buying actual books as long as they are published.

My deepest fear is that someday printed books will not be published or be so expensive to get...
I surely hope not.

Thank you, Japan!!!

I'm sure many people know that Japan won the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011!!!

I couldn't watch the game because I was playing volleyball at a tournament that time.
But my friends kept me updated every goals US and Japan made.
I had never been a soccer fan, I even hadn't known the existence of women soccer players in Japan...
I feel terribly bad about not knowing them working hard to get to the point where they were able to win the world cup.
This is a great accomplishment!

Both US and Japan did great job competing  hard to get to the final and I really respect both of them.
Japan had played against US 25 times before and never won, let lone US was currently top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women's World Ranking, I had not expected Japan to win the title.
But Japan didn't give up even though they were 1-2 down.

Japanese goalkeeper Ayumi Kaihori said,
"I'll be delighted if our victory gives the people of Japan strength. It proves that you can achieve anything if you fight hard enough."

Japan, known as "rising sun", will always rises no matter how high obstacles are.

I just want to point this out;
I have no intention of depreciating the US's great achievement.

The great US soccer players helped me to believe if you work hard, you can achieve greatness.

Dinner with friends!

Last Friday, my friends who love to cook invited us for dinner!

He, who considers himself a BBQ master...lol, cooked beef  sausages mash potato.
And I brought some roasted veggies.
I love this roasted veggies.
The recipe is from Allrecipes

We also got spring mix salad, steamed veggies, and of course rice, yea, most of us were Asian.
And two of us were Japanese, we cannot live without rice...lol

I had really fun with my friends.

We always have fun eating, talking, playing cards, playing volleyball, and so on.
They are the reason I love living in San Diego:)

What an idea!!

This is amazing idea!!!

I was looking through riddit+ and find this.
It is so unconventional yet simple idea that I cannot believe no one hadn't thought about this before....

My PC is down!!!

It seems to be something wrong with my lovely PC....

I woke up in this morning, and turn on the PC, it started making noises inside my hard drive.
So currently I'm using my fiance's msi notebook.....
The screen was so small, so he connected the notebook to my desktop screen, so that I can till use notebook with bigger screen.

I'm worried that I might have to give up all my data in my PC, if the harddrive is broken.
I should've made backup of my data......
I have not only pictures of my creations but also my private pictures that I accumulated for maybe 10 years...
I hope I don't have to loose those data.

Well, all I can do is to wait for my fiance to come home from work and have him  check my PC.
I'm lucky having him who is competent to computer stuff.

Las Vegas 4th of July 2011

I went to Vegas on the weekend of July 4th, which was last week.
wow, it's been a week already since we went there....
Time flies..

So we drove them it took about 5 hours from San Diego.
Driving wasn't that bad, since my fiance and I took turn driving.
We arrived at Bellagio Hotel at 11:00 on Sat.
Since his parents wanted to watch the fountain show at 12:00 there, we walked around the Hotel for taking pictures and killing time until the show stated.

I had watched the fountain show a couple of time before, but I hadn't seen it daytime.
It was amazing.
I'd thought it would have been the same and not that special.
I don't know if it was because of the 4th of July weekend, the fountain seemed way better than the ones I'd seen before.

We stayed Golden Nudget.

The room was nice, but the parking was horrible!!!
Since it was 4th of July weekend, parking structure was packed!!!!
We drove around for 45 mins but still couldn't find a spot.
So we went for valet parking but they were also full.
Finally we parked at a spot for valet that they said they didn't even use.
That was ridiculous.

But over all that was nice weekend.

Today's Dinner: Vietnamese chicken salad!

I live with my fiance and his families who are Vietnamese.
I've lived with them for almost 2 years,
and I've been eating quite lots of kind of Vietnamese food.

This is one of my favorite Vietnamese food I've eaten.
Vietnamese chicken salad

It got chicken, shrimp, carrots, onions, some kinds of herbs, lotus roots, roasted peanuts, and so on.
It is sooooo good, I love the dressing which consists from fish sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and so on that I don't really know...

It is so tasty at the same time so healthy, because of the variety of veggies and chicken is leaner than most of the main protein, right?
I don't really like to eat chicken because I work at a Japanese restaurant where we get chicken teriyaki meal for lunch every time I work... I just got tired of eating chicken. Still like fried chicken though....lol

Semi-precious stone : Agate

Agate: protection, healing
This is the stone known to be one of the oldest stones in the gemstone history. Everyone should have this stone for protection.
Agate stones protect from bad dreams, stress, and energy drains.
And it helps the wearer welcome change with open arms.
If you have to make an important decision, you may want to carry an agate so that the decision will be just and fair.
This stone doesn't give any energy but instead absorbs all the forces that take away energy.

And wearing an agate is said to protects children from major injuries.

In the old days, agate was used to keep a person focused on his/her goals in life.
When you want to possess all the good qualities like being courageous, sensible, and convincing, you should try wearing agate. Agate will bring all of these qualities into the wearer.
